Below are some tips that we hope you will find beneficial, submitted by experienced parents. Let us know which of these suggestions works for you-your feedback is important to us!
We are in need of a lightweight pediatric stroller for an 8-year-old child. Medicaid has denied the purchase of a stroller/wheelchair for the past four years. Last April Orphaned Wheelchairs based out of Oregon donated to us a Tumbleform Transport chair because our daughter could no longer fit into her wheelchair. She uses the transport chair to go to school, but it hard for her to do activities because she tilts back.

There is a company by the name of Laureate. They have software that teaches language for children with PDD and other disabilities. It has been proven to be very effective and has helped a lot of children acquire language. They have an easy-to-use scale to find out what level your child is at and which programs are appropriate for the child. Their software can be adapted for a touch screen and other adaptive devices. The software can be gotten directly through them.
The software is generally very expensive, but they do offer free demos. Many parents end up using only the demo version. www.laureatelearning.com For the free demos: www.llsys.com/parents/custserv/sterlingdemo.html
