My son’s ResHab worker enjoys spoiling him with an abundance of toys and gifts. One day, my son came home with a bag from the toy store with lots of goodies for himself and his siblings. I told him I’m upset that she spends so much money on him, and that I will tell her to stop.
He responded that he knows she didn’t spend a lot of money on him.
“How would you know the cost?” I asked.
”Well, she only used one check for the whole bag!” he answered.

My son was eating out of a bag of peanut chews and generously offered some to me. I responded that I’m on a diet and cannot eat peanut chews.
He answered, “Why don’t you just put Splenda on it, then you could have it!”

My non-verbal daughter went to camp one day last week. She had a blast! When I came to pick her up, I said, “Oh, I missed you so much, can I have a kiss?” She shook her head no, and looked back at the camp door. She seemed to be saying, “Come back later, Mommy…”

My non-verbal son was being tested by his teacher on his alphabet. She told me she would do 10 minutes a day of ABC work. After 10 minutes, he wouldn’t answer her questions. When she asked him to keep going, he looked at the classroom clock! He gave her the 10 minutes, after all.
